NOTARY

Service of Process

Newark-Fremont Legal Center offers on premises Notary Service where for a nominal fee we will notarize your documents such as uncontested Divorce Judgments, Interspousal Transfer Deeds, Affidavits of Death of Joint Tenant, Small Estate Transfer Affidavits, Affidavits of Support, Trust Transfer Deeds, Affidavits of Death of Trustee, Deeds of Trust, Full Reconveyances, Mechanic’s Liens, Applications For Certified Copy of Birth or Death Certificates, and so forth.

We have found that some of our clients have been misinformed that once a document has been notarized, it them becomes “legal", where in fact the notarization has nothing whatsoever to do with the contents or meaning of the document. The two main notarizations are as follows: 1) an Acknowledgment, wherein the Notary Public verifies a person’s signature on a document by “satisfactory evidence,” i.e. by viewing and recording in the Notary Journal the signor’s valid I.D., whether driver license, Senior Citizens I.D., Passport, or any other picture I.D. issued in the last five years by a governmental entity bearing a serial number. 2) A Jurat, wherein the person appearing before the Notary Public either affirms or swears to the truth of the statement set forth above the person’s signature on the subject document.

It should be noted, however, that many public entities such as Recorders Offices, Courts and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Department will not accept the recording or filing of certain documents unless they have been properly notarized.

Not only has Newark-Fremont Legal Center notarized documents for use within the State of California, but we also have extensive experience in performing Notarizations that are destined for entities and institutions outside of the State of California.

Notary Services are also available at your home, place of business, hospital or nursing home for an additional “traveling” charge.
